no more philosophic melancholia; eight hundred pounds of electric genitalia

Oh, yeah. I said I'd do this, so here goes.

These are the unguessed lyrics from the iPod meme:

2. You're an untamed youth, that's the truth, with your cloak full of eagles
3. Where you end, where I begin, is like a river going through
4. Your mama, the long and suffering prisoner of what she can not see
5. Die Nachbarn haben nichts gerafft und fuehlten sich gleich angemacht
6. Looks like Christmas at 55 degrees; this latitude weakens my knees
8. I wanna feel your breath even though you like to flirt with death
11. Consume more than you need; this is the dream
12. Either don't let go, son, or grab the nearest friend
13. Calculate the percentage and disfigure every cost; there'll be another mall open on Monday
15. She's like a new girl every day, and all the rest don't bother me
17. Ah, take me home, please, I'm cold
19. Trying to tell you all that I can in a sweet and velvet tongue
21. With a mandolin or an angry grin and a dead wife in the larder
22. Every schoolboy knows the hiding places I don't

And these are some additions to them, y'know. For hints, and all. Same songs, more words:

2. You're windy and wild, you've got the blues in your shoes and your stockings
3. Neon shines through smoky eyes tonight
4. Your mama, she's a bitter bride, she'll never be satisfied, you know
5. Jeder war ein grosser Krieger
6. Winterfighter's gone on the car as well
8. I am waiting in my car, I am waiting at this bar
11. Good people are only my stepping-stones
12. It's a picture of innocence on which the innocents have fried
13. Apocalypse is now, buyable and takeable; dreams are applicable as well
15. Our love was unintentional; she says we're not responsible
17. I can see the fires on the distant shore; they burn in the night
19. I'm singing, "Oh, Jerusalem, oh, Jerusalem, see what he's picked up in the park"
21. And we bantered and we badinaged and then she stole me watch
22. I would turn and face almost anything, anyplace, for a new beginning

Also, I'd still love to get a letter from a fictional character. Y'all are creative, right? And I gave 20 options, y0. *smiles hopefully*

Really, who wouldn't love a letter from the narcoleptic Argentinean? And don't tell me Diefenbaker can't write. Dude speaks about twelve languages.

And, um. Geoffrey Tennant? Is more than welcome to read me his letter in person, exept, oh, yeah, he doesn't actually exist. I hate when that happens. Woe, why can't the world inside my head be the real one?

[ETA: I'm adding the names of the new people who guessed right to the first post. You can guess ones that have already been guessed; that's why I haven't listed any titles. Either tomorrow or Tuesday I'll relist the whole thing here, with the song names/artists. Because I know none of you will sleep until you know.]

I think it's David singing, unless I'm totally off-base. It's pretty, anyway. #5 is Nena. I don't even like the English version anymore, because it's not a direct translation. God, I sound like a librarian.

You cold be right about David, I can never tell. Their voices are very much alike and they forgot to mention on their second cd who's singing which song.

For the longest time I didn't even know that there is a English version of 99 Luftballons. I heard it in Spain two years ago for the first time ... I like our version, the German one that is, better.

I like songs done the way they were written. I loved the English version when I first heard it, but that's because I didn't realise there was an original in German. Now I can't listen to the English version at all.

I read a review somewhere that said it was David singing. I'd say it was, anyway, after listening to both of them. Paul's voice is huskier and a little deeper. I have a thing for smoky barroom voices anyway, so it's all good. :)

Yes, it is David. I looked it up to be sure ::grins::.

I have a thing for smoky barroom voices anyway, so it's all good. :)
God ::sighs::. That voice ...

David's voice is pretty, but Paul's is more there or something. There's a word for it, but I can't come up with it. I really don't know why people say he can't sing. *shrugs*
