I bet he doesn't care. Not that he doesn't want fans, but I can't imagine he loses sleep over the size of his American audience.
Part of me wants to be all culturally snobby and say that I know where the talent is but the other part of me wants to share the love (hence my three copies of Twitch City that I ordered from Canada for xmas gifts)
I haven't seen Twitch City. Clearly I fail at Callum. Must remedy this. And I think there's plenty of talent in Hollywood. It's just not the centre of the universe, like everyone says it is (and it thinks it is).
I think I just have to comfort myself with the fact that I know that I have good taste and not be bothered that PG (at least) isn't more successful here.
I'm really glad he isn't. People who are successful here get too...glossy, I guess. I've been a fan of Ewan McGregor since forever. I still am, but I don't like the gloss Hollywood has given him, even though I still love him. His old stuff he made in England? So, so much better.
He HATED Hollywood and I am glad that he is doing exactly what he wants to be doing, the WAY that he wants to be doing it.
Which is why he's still in Canada, I'm sure (that and the fact that he's um, Canadian, and doesn't want to be American. This is another concept that's foreign to American culture--that everyone else doesn't want to be an American). The day Paul (and Martha, OMG, she'd be miserable in Hollywood) moves to Hollywood I'm buying stock in, I dunno, Lexapro or something.
