Yeah, the first time I ever saw one of those old Irish 50p pieces, I thought, "That's too pretty to be money." The old Irish money had the harp on one side (which the current boring ol' euros have, too), and on the other, they each had Celtic animal designs, many taken from the Book of Kells. The 50p piece has a bird on it. It's beautiful.
