Well, there was no resounding "nay" vote, but it never got out of the House Education Committee, so for all intents and purposes it's dead this year. Dunn and whoever else is behind it plans to bring it up again next year, though, so it's not entirely over. :(

On the other hand, both houses also voted to overturn Metro Nashville's anti-discrimination ordinance that requires businesses contracting with the city to not discriminate based on gender identification and sexuality. One step forward, five steps back. *sigh*
