It's actually a song by Elton John. It's pretty much gibberish, but it's such a cool song, who cares? The only reason it's a higlightable interest is because I made songdog list it as well. *g*

Bernie (see guy on right in icon) is Elton John's songwriting partner. He wrote the lyrics to most of Elton's songs, and still does, quite often. Elton's actually not a lyric writer; he writes the music. Usually songwriters collaborate on both, but the way it works with these guys is Bernie first writes the words, and Elton puts music to them. They don't even have to be in the same room, or even the same country.

Yeah, I know waay too much about this. But I loff them, I truly do. :)

Gah. What can I say about Rufus? His website can tell you more than I ever could. He's an incredible talent with a voice that's indescribable, who's half torch diva, half introspective songwriter. I have trouble listening casually to Rufus, because his voice and his complete devotion to his music is magnetic, and I have to just sit. and. listen. That's him in my icon.

ka-tet (along with khef and ka) are words used by Gunslingers from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. It's really hard to explain what they mean without knowing the story (or even with knowing it!), but basically ka-tet is a group of people joined together by ka, which is a little bit more than just fate, usually for a specific purpose.

I highly, highly rec this series. It's my very favourite, ever.

Oh, that's an easy one! I simply love hats. I'm especially partial to flowery-floppy ones, and fedoras of varying sizes and colours. Oh, and berets. If you ever meet me, I'll probably be wearing a hat.

Rufus is touring in Canada, according to his website. He's got another album coming out soon, so I'd think he'd do a US tour with that, too.

Of course, you could always go to Canada. ;)
