Apparently, Condoleeza Rice will be meeting with Republican Senators behind closed doors, talking about the situation in Iraq.

My question--why only Republicans?

Also, Paul Wolfowitz says that, although we won't be out of Iraq this July, or maybe next July, eventually we'll leave because the "Iraqi people" "want their country back".


Well, Mr. Deputy Secretary, so do a lot of American people.

Becuase they want to see if they can even survive their own party.

*sigh* Too long. I'm having enough trouble being able to wait until May 17.

As much as I'm looking forward to May 17, as a lawyer, I know this is far from over. It won't stop until we get to the Supreme Court. I don't see a constitutional amendment passing, but it still going to be a long battle.

Oh, yes, I agree with you. But. Seeing same-sex people get married and realising that the world hasn't ended will help a LOT towards awareness.

It'll be a long battle, but what cause worth having isn't? The battle for interracial marriage took years, as well.

I completely agree with you. I just hate to tell some people that when this magic date arrives things aren't done. This is just another step forward. Strangely 2 days later there is an assembly meeting in CA and a decision in Oregon about marriage laws violating equal rights under the law.

Yeah, but in a big way, it is a magic date. One of many. It's just not the end. It's a beginning, though, I hope.
