There's a huge chunk of you out there whose LJs I read every day - but in a lot of cases, I don't know how old a lot of you are, or where you live, or basic, normal things.

This is the problem with LJ - we all think we are so close, and while we know about the day-to-day, there's still a lot we don't know about each other. So let's rectify it.

I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. I promise, I will not make fun of you, or say who asked what; I won't divulge any social security numbers and stuff, but I'll try to answer everything - personal, fandom - whatever.

I then invite you to do the same. Remember, seriously basic stupid questions, don't be embarrassed, you would be really shocked what I don't know about you.

I love this meme! Do ask, I'll answer. Anonymous questions okay, but I'd really like to know who you are!

Turning the question back to you ... what do you love/hate about living in New England? :D

How many kids do you have, and how old are they?

I've never lived anywhere else but NE, so I can't really compare it to other places. I have lived in more than one place IN NE, though.

I love it here. I don't know if I could really call anywhere else home. I love the change of seasons (especially Autumn), the history, the cynical-yet-kind attitude that seems to pervade all of New England. I like the mountains of Western Massachusetts and Vermont and the coasts of Rhode Island and Maine. I fannishly love that Stephen King is a New Englander, as was Robert Frost. *g* And of course, I love the Red Sox with a love that's probably waay too eccentric. I love Boston generally, and I hope to someday be able to live there, at least for a short period of time.

I hate New England Winters. As much as I love the change of seasons, I don't much like the approach of winter. It's cold, wet, slushy, icky and did I mention cold? Also, NE is whiter, ethnically speaking, than many regions of the country. I wish we had more ethnic diversity (although we do have a fairly large contingency of Portuguese, Italian, Irish and French Canadian).

The good outweighs the bad, and unless I'm considering leaving the country (which I am, at least for a little while), you wont see me leaving New England.

Mary, aka [livejournal.com profile] dmbgrl1026 is twenty-one. That's her in my icon, when she was just a wee lass.

Caleb (who has a LJ, but never posts, so it's not worth coding) is nineteen. Both of them live on their own.

Hannah (who blatantly refuses to get a LJ, despite my cajoling) is seventeen.

Isaac, aka [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by will be fifteen on July 14. Shower him with good wishes. *g*

Isaac's actually sort of in the fandom, mostly because he's been prodded by the likes of [livejournal.com profile] patchfire, [livejournal.com profile] wayfairer, [livejournal.com profile] dancinrain and [livejournal.com profile] diamond_dust06.

It's red, but more toward the darker end of the red spectrum. When I don't colour it, it's brown with a very healthy dose of grey.

I think it was me, and yeah, I'd like to. I started [livejournal.com profile] two_rooms ages ago, but it's been inactive. *sigh* Maybe a general music/music trivia thing would work better.

My mom is my only living parent now, but yeah, for the most part, I do. WE have our differences, that's for sure, but generally things are good.

When I was younger I got along with my Dad pretty well(he died in 1989), although we weren't very close because he lived out of state. My stepdad, who died in 1998, was my second father and we almost never had an argument while I was growing up.

Oh, and my stepdad drove a van just like the one in my icon! Nope, he wasn't a hippie. He drove the VW to work at Raytheon in his crisp white starched shirt and tie. *g*
