The "ten things I've done that you might not have" meme:

1. Seen Frank Sinatra in concert.

2. Ridden a Greyhound bus from Providence, RI to Atlanta, GA.

3. Had dinner with the lovely and talented Mr. Stephen Furst.

4. Spent a night in a sweat lodge.

5. Ridden in a school bus from Providence, RI to Clarenceville, Michigan. And back.

6. Lived on an island (no bridge, no causeway) for sixteen years.

7. Attended the Hugo Awards.

8. Protested the Iraq war in NYC during extreme cold temperatures.

9. Sat in for a short time at a session of the U.S. Supreme Court.

10. Invited Jimmy Carter to speak at my high school graduation (well, my class, population eight, did).

I'm cleaning my house. Well, I will be after lunch.

I have picked up my check at work and gone to the bank and Stop and Shop, where I bought numerous cleaning items and Healthy Food.

I weigh *drumroll* 162.5 lbs. That's almost twelve pounds lost! Somewhere around twenty-five, thirty left to go.

I've also made a decision: I've been wanting to go back to school for a while, now but I couldn't decide what to go back for. I've been avoiding the obvious forever, but it's time I face up--I should get my BSN (That would be Bachelor of Science in Nursing). Rhode Island College has a good RN to BSN programme that would only take eighteen months (actually, I could do it at my own pace), and Butler Hospital would pay something like $800 a year in tuition reimbursement. Then if I want to go to graduate school, I don't necessarily have to do it here in the Great White North (where it's going to SNOW AGAIN TONIGHT, ARGGGH!).

[livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by is coming home tomorrow!!!! Hence all the cleaning.

Now to the important stuff. I need Disco.

No, really. I blame NPR for their episode of "The Connection" discussing Early Disco and how it was better than the drivel that came afer. I'll take the drivel, too, though.

Anyone want to yousendit?
