Just one reason I completely love Massachusetts (the fact that I was born there doesn't hurt, either *g*).

"Gay marriage has begun, and life has not changed for the citizens of the commonwealth, with the exception of those who can now marry," said state Sen. Brian Lees, a Republican who had been a co-sponsor of the amendment. "This amendment which was an appropriate measure or compromise a year ago, is no longer, I feel, a compromise today."

I guess people have noticed that the sky didn't fall on 17 May, 2004, y'know?

In other news, I bought this today. My only problem with it is that the cover is not brown, like the LP cover was. Ah, well. Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes. Turn and face the strain.

I just (like today) realised that Ian Gillan, who is Jesus in this recording, is the same guy who sang the vocals for (and helped write) Smoke on the Water. ROCK ON!

For the first time in U.S. history, both houses of a state legislature passed a bill allowing civil marriage for same sex couples. Now California could set the standard in the battle for equal rights for all Americans. But Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is planning to single-handedly halt the expansion of basic civil rights to everyone in California.

Signing the Civil Marriage and Religious Freedom Protection Act into law would move California forward on the right side of history by affording the same rights to all Californians, regardless of sexual orientation. And it would set an example for the entire nation! But Governor Schwarzenegger has said that he will veto the Civil Marriage and Religious Freedom Protection Act passed by both houses of the California State Legislature.

Don't let Schwarzenegger veto the bill! Click the link below to tell Schwarzenegger to sign the Civil Marriage and Religious Freedom Protection Act.

Not sure if it'll help, but a click is easy, and well. It couldn't hurt.
