My Ten
Date: 2005-02-24 06:58 am (UTC)1. Spent four weeks in Romania (to adopt my daughter).
2. Was born in Greece.
3. Watched a Broadway show from the wings ( a friend played a leading role in the show).
4. Saw Ronald Reagan trip and fall into an aide's arms getting off of a bus in Manchester, NH in 1983.
5. Worked on the advance team for the Ferraro for Vice-president campaign in 1984.
6. Camped for three days alone on the Sacco River in Maine, just to get away and clear my head.
7. Toured with the road company of a Broadway show.
8. Spent an hour talking basketball in the Denver, CO airport with Red Auerbach.
9. Won $3,000 playing roulette in Las Vegas.
10. Saw Elton John in concert on July 4, 1976.

3. Attended a mass given by the Pope.
4. Watched from the end of the runway a B52 bomber do "touch and go's"
5. Dated a guy who operated the "boom" (the long, hose-like arm) in a KC-135 tanker plane.
6. Was in a huge crowd scene in the movie, "Nashville" and met actor Keenan Wynn (ok, I was 9 years old at the time and had no idea what was going on or who he was, but still...)
7. Won $100 from a local radio station.
8. Had a "can't lose" morning in a Lake Tahoe casino.
9. Went on a week-long bus trip following a minor league hockey team around, a la "Slapshot".
10. Watched several concerts and a couple basketball games from a luxury suite in the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Oooh, I forgot...

Went down an old gold mine shaft on a rickety "elevator" platform (I use the term "elevator" loosely: this "elevator" was lowered down the shaft by a huge crane) and toured some tunnels, one of which was so small that we couldn't stand up straight and had to crawl through certain parts.
One word: stupid. Two more words: Never again.
