(no subject)

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian listpeople. You guys actually have Thanksgiving after the Harvest instead of a month before Christmas when it's freezing. Imagine that. :)

Also, today would have been John Lennon's 66th birthday. Here are a few tracks in celebration of his life. *loves*

John Lennon - Jealous Guy
John Lennon - #9 Dream
John Lennon - I Don't Want to be a Soldier, Mama
John Lennon - Working Class Hero
John Lennon - Remember

Since I don't celebrate Columbus Day, I can raise a Mike's to the above (more fun) celebratory-type things. *does so*

I'd send a bunch of songfiles about Canada, but I don't have that many, and I'm sleepy. Besides, you get turkey, so there. *g*

Thanky! Having had our big dinner last night, I'm currently enjoying my turkey hangover.

And here's a song that gets you in the Canadian autumn mood - you may already have it.

Thanks! Actually, I don't have this version. [livejournal.com profile] songdog will probably throw me out of the family for the utter transgression of this, so you may have saved my family. *g* I do love Neil Young (although [livejournal.com profile] songdog is more of a fan than I, which is probably something that should be rectified) and I love the song. Very poetic. *sigh*

I do have k.d. lang's version:

k.d. lang - Helpless.

I love anything and everything she does. I need to get a hard copy of this album, eventually, as in SOON.

Also, here's a New England Autumn song. It's gorgeous, a painting in words, very shiver-making in a good way. Cheryl Wheeler's very good at that. I recommend anything she does.

Cheryl Wheeler - When Fall Comes to New England

I really need to go out and look at the foliage. I actually was in glorious Autumnal New Hampshire last night and there was foliage all around me and it was dark and I couldn't see it. *grumbles*

Thanks! And glad to be the potential saviour of your family *g*

It's amazing and scary how time flies.

you may or may not have this already -- but it's one of my favorites from jann arden and it's a moving bit of canadiana -- anyhow enjoy and thanks for the music!

No, I don't have this. I don't know it, but it's very pretty. I like Jann Arden in general, and I've been meaning to add some to my songfile folder. Thanks! :)
