we're the song inside the tune, full of beautiful mistakes

I found this completely by accident. What an introduction to this band. I officially love them even before hearing anything else they've recorded, just because they did this. Everyone go buy their albums. With money. Pay twice.

In case you missed the link at the end, the address is kidshelpphone.ca. There are groups like it in the UK. There's not much in the US, unfortunately. Wake up, America. These are your kids.

And then there's this one:

I've been in love with the song from the second I heard it years ago, and the video is gorgeous. My only criticism is that the men kissing look too much alike, which I think takes away from the point. But the girl with the braces? That was me (only without the braces). I thought she deserved an icon; it's one of my oldest.

I like YouTube for the most part. I can pick and choose what videos I watch. I'm not a Christina fan per se (I do like her voice, I'm just not into that genre), but I love this song.

The boys kissing is the weakest part, because they look like identical twins. I can't help but think it was done on purpose, but it doesn't make sense to me. *shrugs*

The two men kissing might have looked so much alike because the director was making a symbolic statement about loving/accepting oneself in addition to the obvious statement regarding the homosexual stigma. *shrugs* Just a thought.

By the by, what's an "album"?

Maybe that's what the director had in mind, but I think it took away from the first point by adding a second. *shrugs* Overall I love the video.

I still call CDs 'albums'. It seems to carry over well from vinyl. :)
