Is this not the most boring travel history in the universe?

This is even worse. I mean, honestly. I live here:

A world traveller I am NOT. *sigh* Someone from some exotic place needs to invite me to visit and pay for my plane ticket.

Nope. Mine is much, much more boring.

I'm going on like four trips this summer, but they're all to places I've been recently (except DC.I haven't been there in YEARS). Not that I don't want to go, but still.

I'm going to Seattle! \o/ That's the furthest away I've ever been.

You've been to more of Canada than I have. *g*

[identity profile] malnpudl.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I am worlds more boring than you on the global scale (pardon the pun). US and Canada. One Canadian province (BC). *sigh*

But thanks to business travel, I light up a lot of the US states. At least there's that.

The Europe/Egypt countries on the map were the result of one trip with a church group when I was twenty. Not the best trip I've been on, but Italy was awesome.

I've never been to BC. My sister recently moved to Idaho, so if I visit her I could hit Alberta and BC at the same time and add more to the list. I'll just run outside now and pick a few bucks from the money tree. *sigh*

Well there's always the UK...not that I'd call it exotic

The UK and Ireland are at the top of my Eurolist, followed by Germany and France.

Dude! You get around!

But Portugal said to tell you its feelings are hurt. ;-)

It'll look even more impressive when I've been to Canada.

Heee! Yeah, I really should go to Portugal.

[identity profile] aingeal8c.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
See that's better than mw.

I've visited 2 other ocuntries apart from the UK. And both of them were in Europe. And I can't really count one because it was EuroDisney.

[identity profile] primroseburrows.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I really shouldn't count Haiti because the place I went to was owned by the cruise line, so it wasn't really Local Culture or anything. If I can count that, you can count EuroDisney. ;)

[identity profile] aingeal8c.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we can count both then. I mean we went to another country...techncially...

[identity profile] primroseburrows.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
The only thing I didn't count was places where I only drove through or had a stopover at an airport (If I counted them I could add the whole US East Coast plus Colorado and California and whatever states I'd go through getting from RI to Michigan).

[identity profile] malnpudl.livejournal.com 2008-02-23 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm with you on not counting airport stops, but if you've driven through the state? That totally counts. You've been there.

[identity profile] newleaf31.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Funny how most people seem to be on pretty much the same page! My global travels are highly limited. (I mean, for God's sake, I've never even been to the Middle East, and I'm a biblical scholar.)

And I didn't even look at my Canada map, because I've only been to Quebec (and I was 4 then)... but the U.S. looks pretty dang good! Although -- it's pretty obvious which part of the country I need to get to, lol:

You obviously have an issue with New Hampshire :)

[identity profile] newleaf31.livejournal.com 2008-02-22 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor New Hampshire. There's a dollhouse store there that I'm dying to visit, so perhaps it will sufficiently inspire me to do a bit of traveling! (Actually, I can't remember if I've been to New Hampshire or not. It seems like I have... but I erred on the side of definitive honesty.)

I am not much of a globetrotter. Sadly. Hell, I've never even been to Mexico. I'd really love to go to Italy. And Japan. And Australia. And New Zealand.

Hello Primrose. First of all, thank you thank you for the wonderful cupcake!
Second of all, you made my day by playing The Weight, which is of course from "Music from Big Pink". It is one of my all-time favourite songs. And as it happens it reminds me of my Band story. I had a good buddy in University whose father was the manager for Levon Helm, drummer and singer for The Band. Anyway in the early 80s The Band did a reunion tour and my buddy got to go spend the summer with his father and The Band and I guess it was quite an experience. Unfortunately I don't think Robbie Robertson was a part of the tour which is too bad cause Robbie rocks. Of course Robbie is Canadian!!

I hope you had a great birthday. *g*

I'm using [livejournal.com profile] songdog's computer temporarily and she's got a killer amount of music that I don't have on mine (including The Weight, what is WRONG with me?).

I'm jealous of your friend's Close Encounter. I got to have dinner with Stephen Furst once, and that was fun, so it's sortakinda the same, only different.

Of course Robbie is Canadian!!

IIRC, he's not just Canadian, he's half First Nations (hooray for yet another piece of the myriad of random trivia that chase away the important stuff in my head, like where I put my book/car keys/wallet). That makes him, liek, older than Canadian. :)

[identity profile] eltonroo.livejournal.com 2008-02-23 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
It sure do. And duree is downloading "Show Down at Big Sky" for my new I-pod. Yeah for Robbie!

Okay, I can't resist this:

I traveled some with my family when I was younger--note the tiny dot on Fiji. : )

My travel goals now are more modest, mostly because I'm trying to limit my flying due to environmental concerns. I'd like to go to some of the Baltic states, and to northern Norway. Iceland would be cool too. I do like it in the north...

I was on a road trip down the Mississippi River a couple of years ago, that's why all the southern states...

I haven't had the money to fly for ages (except last month when my family paid for half my ticket). I want to look into doing some carbon trading (is that what they call it?) next time I do manage to fly. I should do that with driving, too, since all my trips to Canada have been by car.
