Y'know, I've always thought that the US (Republican and Democrat alike) held the #1 spot in the Partisan and Proud of It contest.

Not anymore. America, you've officially been upstaged by the Conservative Party of Canada.

[ETA] Apparently the Tories aren't going to get all the airplay they'd like--there's only one company that has the plasma screens needed to play the ad, and they've got a no-politics policy. But still. The very idea of it boggles.

AUGH! Should I manage to get to vote in the next election (I can haz? SOON, PLZ???), I'm voting Green, since there's no way the Conservatives are not going to win (AGAIN) in my riding with 50%+ of the vote in a 3-way race. However, it is a small, very small consolation to me that I've just joined a facebook group called "I wanna hit Stephen Harper with a pie..."

We have a child-eating cyborg as Prime Minister, CTV just bought the Hockey Night in Canada theme song and CBC won't be able to play it any more... the Canadian apocalypse is nigh!!!

I read about possible legislation on the issue, but now that CTV has bought it, I guess politics can't solve it. Oh, teh HUMANITY!
