Nov. 4th, 2008 12:01 pmI'll be voting later today, so this is (probably) the last pre-election vid I'll post (don't everyone cheer at once). I wasn't going to post any more at all, but this one's just too good not to spread around some:

SI, ES VERDAD.
Date: 2008-11-04 07:56 pm (UTC)Somewhere in some (nonsectarian) afterlife, there's this little house where a bunch of the departed are having an election party. There are chips and popcorn and chocolate and champagne (with and without alcohol) and a good time is being had by all. And there's this giant better-than-plasma television that's all set up to hear the new President's acceptance speech.
When Madelyn arrives she's immediately wrapped in a bone-crushing welcome-home hug from her daughter Ann. Pretty soon everyone's gathering around her--family, friends, people she's never met, people she's only seen on TV-- to give her hugs and welcomes welcomes. And yeah, naturally everyone wants to know the latest gossip, and how things are going back on Earth.
They all catch up for a while, and then someone calls out that President Obama's speech is about to start. Madelyn looks up from the group and catches the eye of a young man with kind, intelligent eyes and an engaging smile. He takes her hand and brings her over to this one recliner that he's saved especially for her. She settles down into it, and it's all kinds of comfortable AND has the best view of the broadcast. Ann takes the one right next to her.
And Madelyn, well. She's definitely got the best seat in the house, as well she should. And here's the thing that makes it cooler still--it was Martin who saved it for her, because she deserves it a whole lot, and 'cause you just KNOW he's watching, too.

Date: 2008-11-04 08:17 pm (UTC)*sigh* When he wins -- and I'm not jinxing anything, but he WILL -- I'm going to be a soggy wet puddle of grateful sobbing on the floor.

Date: 2008-11-04 10:23 pm (UTC)If he doesn't win I may have a nervous breakdown. Well, okay, not really, but--gah, it's just unthinkable.
