I ordered the Ontario guides and will order Québec ones. I stuck the book on my wishlist and will order it also. Whee!
And yeah, if everything else were equal I'd definitely pick Québec. I'm still a little freaked out about the language thing (I'm going back to school in the fall and will be taking French as my required language, lot of good that'll do me in the summer), but hmm. We shall see!
Money is also an object. I usually stay in hostels--it's a great, cheap way to travel if you research them really well. Even if I end up picking a place to go after I get to Ottawa, I'll still be good. My best holiday was in 2007, and basically I pointed the car and drove. This time I'm renting a car, so hopefully I'll get one with unlimited mileage.
