Heard about this this afternoon. Raised imaginary glass then. Raising real glass now. Congratulations to you both, ladies, not enough of us can claim those many years together...seconds, *L'chaim*!
And then watched as one of our (MA) state senators went through an agonizing story of his 7 year old son's illness, and the doctor's office demanding to know if he were the parent, after all, another man (his partner) was listed as the father. Their son had a 104.5 fever. How very scary.
I'm a married lady :-), in what way, exactly, could another couple's marriage, no matter the genders involved, possibly diminish my marriage? to this, I would like to entertain responses.
Five decades already. Wow. Good for them! (I teared up, too.)
*sends virtual flowers and chocolate to SF City officials for their craftiness, resourcefulness, and strong desire to allow people who want to be married to actually get married*
