In solidarity with [livejournal.com profile] wayfairer and everyone united for change, I'm re-posting this from her journal:

I am prepared to disobey the Defense of Marriage Act, and any federal or state amendment to the constitution that the legislature decides to enact, to the fullest extent possible.

Maybe "disobey" is the wrong word for me, since I'm not planning on going out and getting married. I'm just standing in support of those who want to, even if someone tells me it's illegal.

Remember, not all those who resisted the Vietnam war were actively resisting the Draft. Those who were needed a lot of support from the masses. So the word stands, 'cause positive social change is often made by defying unjust laws (see incredible woman in my icon for an example)
