The only good thing is that it's the Cubs. They're just like us, only National League.

I may just become a Cubs fan (unless they're in the Series with the Sox, of course), because I adore Nomar completely apart from what team he's on. And <3<3 the Cubs.

When I first heard that Nomar had been traded, my immediate thought was "Imagine the shock waves if he goes to the Yankees." Even though I don't follow baseball all that much, I would have hated to see them buy yet another fantastic player, just because they have the money.

I'd like to think Nomar wouldn't have gone to the Yankees, but I'm probably living in the past where yes, there were Red Sox players who wouldn't dream of leaving their team in the first place (Carl Yastrzemski, for one).

I remember when Carlton Fisk left. I was just about this upset then, too.
