[livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by just called me, from his Textiles class at school in New Hampshire, to ask me the following question: Is Harry a half-blood (the answer, of course, is a resounding NO). Apparently there was discussion of this in said Textiles class.

Am v. amused.

Yeah, but the ultimate decision isn't that of the DE's, thank the gods.

Harry's parents were a witch and a wizard...therefore, Harry is a Pureblood.

Hmmm. I wouldn't say that he's a pureblood, because one half of his ancestry is Muggle, even if he is the child of two magical parents. His mother was a halfblood, so that would "dilute" his wizarding heritage somewhat.

A 3/4blood, maybe? *s*

My understanding is that a child of a witch and a wizard is a pureblood. FIrst gen, yes, because he isn't from an old wizarding family like the Malfoys or the Weasleys. But still a pureblood. There are no Muggles in his immediate family.
