Most of you guys have seen this. Those who haven't need to. Those who have, look again.
America, this is your government at work. Friends abroad, please, please show your support for the US. No, you can't vote, but you might have friends or relatives over here who are citizens and are undecided. A situation like this would not have happened had Al Gore been President these last four years.
I haven't posted anything blatantly political in a while. But this is so very scary.
I'm not going to friends-lock my LJ or stop ranting about this deluded, misguided, xenophobic government or its wrongly-appointed leader. I would never threaten anyone's life, nor do I wish anyone dead. I just wish this moron would be voted out of office, legally and rightfully, as he was four years ago, before the Supreme Court decided to play God.
Yeah, I'm angry. But I'm not gonna shut up, and if that gets me an FBI file, so be it. *shakes fist at G-Men*

Date: 2004-10-28 12:00 am (UTC)Not that I think your reasoning with what information you have is flawed, but Bush was not "wrongly appointed" although I do disagree with allowing the judicial system to step in and decide when the recounting stops, only so many recounts are viable before a determination on who won the election becomes a prime factor. Someone has to stop the endless recounts, as Florida did not have a law limiting how many recounts were possible, the Co0urts made a ruling and that became the law. No illegality there is there?
The deciding recount was for George W. Bush.
And as for "this never would have ahppened had Al Gore been president" The twin towers still would have still been destroyed, and the probable lack of decisive action would have hurt us a hell of alot more than pissing off a few countries who, frankly, dont really matter.
I mean really, France and Germany are mad, big fuckin deal.
(Yes I am well aware of the fact that many other nations are against the actions of the US, I am pointing these two out as prime examples, also, the "coalition of the willing" is many nations strong, 37 I believe, which while it is a low number, represents the 37 of the 50 or so that actually HAVE enough money and resources to devote to action in other countries.)
Just my two cents... enjoy the conservativism on you LJ for a moment.

The deciding recount was for Bush after The Powers That Be illegally declared a bunch of legitimate votes invalid (most of which were from African-Americans).

That wasn't my point. My point was that the FBI wouldn't be doing what it's doing if it wasn't for the paranoia the country has been thrust into since the Patriot Act was born. As for what Gore would have done Post-9/11, I guess we'll never know. I'm not quite sure what 'decisive action' was taken, other than to attack Iraq which had nothing to do with finding Bin Ladin or the so called 'war on Terror'. Besides, maybe Gore would have read the memo.
