This is my new best favourite song. It's not REM, but it sounds like it should be. And the lyrics, oh, my. They cut me open.

And no, I haven't seen Donnie Darko. It's on my list, near the top. I've also not heard the Tears for Fears version. I should.

Oh, and could somone send me the link to the HP video that used this song? Because it was gods, the best video I've ever seen, ever. It's around, I've seen it.

I LOVE that song.. and I think it's superior to the Tears for Fears version, if only because I prefer it as slow, sad, and melancholy.

It's beautiful. And fandom-wise, so very, very Harry.

Amen. The Gary Jules version is far superiour to the Tears for Fears one. Gah, I lovelove that song. And Donnie Darko I didn't like the first time I saw it...but it grew on me. A lot. I blame our Alex.

I love both versions of that song - I used to play them back to back. Unfortunately I lost all my music files when my computer crashed a couple of months ago. :( The movie is strange and wonderful - you almost *have* to see it more than once, because it takes once to even have an idea what is going on. But the website is one of *the* coolest ever. http://www.donniedarko.com/

There's a lovely, gorgeous Harry-centric video somewhere. I've seen it once or twice, and I wanna have it. *g*

It's listed under the song name on the righthand side of the page. I hope that's the one you were looking for!

That's not the one I saw before, but it's good. The one I remember had clips from all the films in it; there was quite a bit from the first one.

There's a Mummer's Dance one on the same page, as well, which is cool because I've always thought that song was a perfect theme for HP.

Ironically enough, I just watched that movie an hour ago for the first time.

I'm not sure what I think -- it'll probably end up on my list of favorites -- but that song was captivating.

It is. The other song that comes close is Damien Rice's The Blower's Daughter. I hated the film it's from, but finding the song was worth the eight-fifty or howevermuch it was.

I loved Donnie Darko. I also had a very severe case of 80's nostalgia after watching it, so beware. And Gary Jules' version of Mad World is definitely superior to the original, but then, I'm a sucker for piano stuff. I like to think of it as the 'male' version of Sad Lisa.

I can't download it in order to test (28.8k modem at the moment, which is absolute hell), but there is a Mad World HP video on this (http://www.geocities.com/hp_lotrmusicvids/harrypotter) page. It may well be the same one that was linked above, though.
