Thanks to my sainted mum, who offered me a loan, I now am the very happy owner of this computer and this monitor.
I'm so excited. I thought the monitor was 17" when I bought it. D00d, it's 19", which is why my retinas are slightly fried.
My computer, for those who care, is called Cuthbert. That's pronounced "KYOUTH-bert". I still plan to get my ailing Laptopl (that's it's name--it's a god in the Aztec pantheon, of course! Well, a goddess. Laptopl is decidedly female).
You have no idea how close this computer came to being known as Eddie Cantor Dean.
