WTF, Livejournal?

Anyone know if there's a reason LJ is almost always down these days? Not cool, LJ, not cool.

ETA: Apparently LJ has been suckerpunched by Russian political activists (thanks to omens for the link). Totally not LJ's fault.

Yes, LJ is fighting of a massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack from political activists and the Russian government. LJ is the primary blog platform for politics in Russian and so it's being attacked in hopes of silencing the voices of certain bloggers.

Buzz is, Russian government-sponsored DDoS attack to keep political dissidents quiet before elections. Which is why it's hard to be pissed off at LJ for it.
