Coincidence or is Tori trying to tell me something?

How weird is this: I'm in my car coming back from the laundromat, and "Cornflake Girl" is going through my head. So I get home, talk to the new neighbours about parking (or rather, the severe lack of parking), and come back in, and the SAME SONG is playing on my COMPLETELY RANDOM PLAYLIST. Needless to say, I was a little weirded out.

I sorta of do, maybe, anyway i'll tell you the story and you can decide.

One of my school firends has this CD colelction that her mother made for her on her 21st birthday. She absolutely loaths this collection of CD's, as its made by her mother with songs that her mother included that remind her mother of my firnend (make any sense here??). Anyway, when my firend talks about this CD collection (usually to complain and vent her utter loathing of it) her mother calls her. Each and every time. I have been witness to this event.

Also my frineds motehr sends the same msg to her time and tiem again if she deosn't immediately reply just so my friend 'really did get the messgae'

Very weird. Reminds me of the daughter of an elderly friend who died. The lady was cremated, but for some reason the daughter was putting off sprinkling/burying/whatever her ashes. So, the daughter's phone would ring one cut-off ring every night, with nobody at the other end, exactly at 10 p.m., which was the time her mother had called her every night before she went to bed. When the ashes were finally dealt with, the rings stopped. Eerie.

Last week, I was reading The Outsiders on the bus to school one morning, when I noticed that the girl sitting across the aisle from me was reading it too.

And a few days ago at the gym, my iPod had the same song playing on it as was being played over the sound system, but about 4 seconds out of phase.

iPods are beginning to scare me. Probably because I don't have one and everyone else does. Someone needs to buy me one, y'know. Just to help me with my phobia.

Hmm, you could *try* that line -- "Help me overcome my fears! Buy me an iPod!" -- but somehow, I'm having trouble seeing this one fly....

You could always try that telemarketing "get a free iPod" thingy that was really popular a few months ago.

You know, I do actually! VERY often I'll spontaneously start humming a song I haven't heard for years, and I'll wander around with it stuck in my head for hours on end - and then when I turn on the radio, that's what will be playing. It happens often enough that it almost borders on not coincidence... although exactly how it could be not coincidence is beyond me. I certainly haven't got a radio transceiver in my head.

I think there's a cosmic consciousness with music--I've done that with the radio, too (and also found that two or more stations are playing the same obscure song minutes apart). But my computer is electronic. Is there some kind of AI music geek inside of Winamp? Hmmm...

I just bought Tori's Beekeeper album today. And as I sit down listening to it for the first time, I read your post. It was a bit strange. But doesn't sound as strange writing it down as it felt at the time. Hmph.
