I've always been afraid to rant on my opinions about the events of 9/11/2001. Especially here on LJ, for some reason. Now Ani has said it for me, and channelled me completely.

You need a secret rant blog?

I can't agree more. Those are stellar lyrics and a great commentary. Nothing new or out of the blue, but they have all the elements in place... and an interesting commentary on our reticence to stand up and speak. If one thing we've lost in america makes me sad it is that we no longer have freedom of speech. Cause we're sometimes scared to. I know I am... sometimes.

I think a sekerit rant blog would be fine, except for my tendency to want other people to Know What's On My Mind, Dammit.

Sept 11 is being used as a reason for doing horrible things. I think it cheapens the tragedy, really. If the people who died that day knew what's been going on in their name...it's very sad.

No shit. I always have respect for the dead and those who suffered, and score for those to use tragedys to their own political ends, regardless of who they are.
