Last week I put my name in to work extra hours today. They called me at 6:30 or so.

I had forgotten this when I went to bed at 2 am. See y'all at midnight. *stumbles*

Oh, and the cat puked all over everything while I was sleeping. Fun times.

From one cat owner to another, may I just ask if cats ever puke during daylight hours? Mine definitely do not. I have my suspicions why this is. I think they have their own little stash of some high quality, high potency, contraband catnip and they're just partying all night after we go to bed. God knows I hear them hauling ass all over the house as I'm laying in bed. They're obviously all hopped up. When I get up in the morning, I get to deal with the after effects while they watch me with a look on their faces that screams, "Sucker". After making sure that I clean it up to their satisfaction (they always sniff the area I clean when I finish), they go crash on the guest room bed for at least an hour.

Very true. Unfortunately this cat is hypersensitive to almost all kinds of cat food. Change her diet in the least and it's barf city--the other day she did it on my bed right next to my face while I was sleeping.

Ugh, I have always hated jobs that call me in to work unplanned hours, even if I've asked for the hours and need the $$$. Yuck... human and animal body fluids on 4 hours of sleep....

Not that this will make you feel any better, but dogs also enjoy puking at the worst possible times. In fact, mine has learned to use puking as a manipulator -- "Mom, it's time you got up" *puke*, "Mom, I didn't want you to have five hours of classes today" *puke*, "Mom, buy the more expensive dog food" *puke*, "Mom, make it stop raining" *puke*... you get the idea. House pets have evolved in their ability to live with human beings in ways that compensate for their lack of verbal language skills.

Hope the day wasn't too bad.

I'm home, and as usual, when I think of the money I made (double time first shift, time-and-a-half second shift, and either 8 or 16 hours of banked holiday time) I'm a little happier.. I just feel like I've been run over by a truck, a little. :/
