1. What color are your kitchen plates? Melmac, in dark green, light green, grey, orange, and...I think that's it. Also a few random black ceramic ones. I love me my Melmac.

2. What book are you reading now? I'm reading three. Sword and Citadel by Gene Wolfe, American Gods by Neil Gaiman (reread) and The Sandman, Vol. 2: The Doll's House, also by Neil (and all teh lovely illustrators). Also dabbling into actually reading Out of the Fog: Treatment Options and Coping Strategies for Adult Attention Deficit Disorders by Kevin Murphy and Suzanne Levert. They'll all be put aside in two weeks, however. *cheers*

3. What's on your mouse pad? mawaridi's H/D "Armchair" drawing. I have an infrared mouse, I don't even need a pad, but I love it so much, it stays.

What is your favorite board game? Trivial Pursuit, if I could ever find anyone to play with me. I'm SO bringing it to TWH.

5. What is your favorite Magazine? I have several, actually. My all-time favourite was Ina May Gaskin's now-defunct Birth Gazette. I also like The Compleat Mother (even though my own kids are well past the agerange), Sage Woman, and The Nation. *crunches granola*

6. Favorite smell? That Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey soap that songdog makes. It brings up an old, old, old, nonverbal memory. Also very newborn baby. Anyone who's ever smelled one can testify to that, I think. It's unique, and very primal.


7..Least favorite smell? Vomit.


8. What is the first thing you think of when you wake
up in the
morning? Is it my day off?


9. Favorite color? Black and green.

11. How many rings before you answer the phone? As few as possible. I hate ringing phones.


12. Future child's name? Well, I do have current children. If I'm ever fortunate enough to be blessed with kids in the future, I'd sure like Conor Draco for a boy. Dunno about a girl.


13. What is most important in life? My kids, without question.


14. Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate, geez.


15. Do you like to drive fast? Not really.


16. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? Sometimes my cat eats a big dinner and curls up with me. And I do have a stuffed Ewok on my bed.

18. What type was your first car? 1975 Datsun B-210 Hatchback . Only mine was dark green.

would it be? I can only pick one! Well, I'm going to be a rebel and pick two of each. For the living, Jimmy Carter and Stephen King. For the dead, Helen Keller and Jesus. Perhaps even at the same time. Of course, there's John Lennon and Johnny Cash and Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King, Jr. and OMG Bobby Kennedy. But alas, too many to list.

22. Do you eat the stems of broccoli? Yep. I also like 'em raw and peeled with salt.

28. Do you type with your fingers on the right keys? Well, I learned on an IBM Selectric, not a computer, but mostly, yes. Only not the numbers. I never learned properly where to put my fingers for them. I was absent that day, or something.

31. Favorite sport to watch? If you guys don't know by now, I'm not going to tell you. D00d. For me? THERE IS NO OTHER SPORT.

32. What is your single biggest fear? Getting old. I think I fear that more than death.

A tad offensive? That article is ridiculous! I'd think that the reason that parents are less likely to be divorced if they have sons rather than daughters (which I don't believe in the first place) is because it's the male child who passes on the father's name. Daughters are pretty much adopted into their husband's families, while the sons continue their fathers' lines. So if you leave your family and you have sons, then your name will be lost. But if you have only daughters, then it's okay, because your name has been lost anyway.

Actually, put that all in the past tense, because those are antiquated ideals. But they unfortunately still seem to hold in some regions of the world today :-/

Not to mention that people can find statistics for anything. peacey was saying that someday there might be a survey that tells us that people who have moles on their upper left arms are more likely to get divorces than people who don't. I only have two freckles on my left upper arm, what's my excuse? peacey says they don't count.
