Facts about my day:

1. I am freezing. I called the landlord again. If they don't do something, I'm calling, oh, I dunno. The cops or something.

2. I was allowed to go home because they had too many nurses at work today. How weird is that? Not only that, but I was the second person who went home.

3. I'm going here tonight. I shall wear a hat and gloves!

Building Inspector's office actually would be who you call. They have a copy of the Landlord/Tenants handbook and you would report violations to them or they would direct you to the proper place.

When I lived in NY, the landlord had until 11/10 to turn on the heat. It's worth looking into. You can break a lease and sue if s/he's past date.

The irony of your icon being, of course, that a lot of the countries in the civilised world are variants on red white and blue. I've been looking at flags a lot, recently, and most of them seem to have red, white and blue on...

Off the top of my head, Britain, France, The Netherlands, Australia, Nepal, Croatia, Serbia, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia (when it existed - the central European bunch having been part of a Gateworld argument recently), Cuba, Chile, Puerto Rico, Panama, Paraguay (?), Iceland, N. Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, The Faroe Islands, The Dominican Republic...

And those are the ones without extra flaggy bits.

So, I guess they do run the world, really. :)
