I'm going to see Walk the Line in a little while. I've been looking forward to it, but I'm also hoping very much I won't be disappointed. Because no matter how good Joaquin Phoenix is at acting like he's Johnny Cash, I (virtually) know and love Johnny so much it's gonna be hard to suspend it all and actually accept that this is him, y'know?
Of course, I may be thrilled and amazed. The reviews are good, so we shall see.
ETA: Very, very good. Joaquin Phoenix doesn't look like Johnny, but he does a good job of sounding like him. I was also very impressed withKash's girlfriend Reese Witherspoon, who I've always known was better than the roles she's taken (Something like I knew Ewan was better than his Phantom Menace role). In this one she's left Sweet Home Alabama and its ilk in the proverbial dust. Not to mention that she had a baby how long ago and she looks like THAT in a slinky dress?
Also yay for calf-length floral twirly chintz skirts. I want one. Or seven.

One day I was doing dishes and he came up behind me, grabbed me, twirled me around & started daning with me while singing, "We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout...". I've been calling him "J.R." ever since (his real initials)
