*headdesk*

Maybe I should rethink that house in Cape Breton. Or at least pray for the US to put people who are LESS STUPID in power. Should be easy, because there can't be many who are MORE stupid left.

If it's Tennessee, though, it's Bob Corker. And Bob Corker goes both ways.

Hmm, well. My dad & I say that, to imply that, you know, he's bi. Since he's el conservative Republicano, this would be akin to a Fate Worse Than Death.

The origin, though, is that when Bob Corker was mayor of Chattanooga, he authored a plan to turn two one-way streets into two-way streets. There was no real need for this, and I think it's actually made traffic congestion worse, plus the expense of doing so... BUT the people that owned land alongside these two streets (which run through the heart of one of the poorest, least integrated neighborhoods in Chattanooga) made an absolute killing. Bob Corker was one of those people.

So... Bob Corker. He goes both ways.

Bob Corker. Goes both ways with a side of Blame Canada. I'm really glad I don't live in Tennessee. Even though it's fun to spell. But it's all good. I still get to type Massachusetts all the time.

Wait, wait, wait. There's a political ad out from the U.S. Republicans slamming on Canada and saying they "don't pull their weight" in international issues? THE HELL?! *brain explodes*

I rillyrillyrillyRILLY hate the RNC. Do you suppose they ever had brains, or did they just leave them at home sometime back in 2000? Not all Republicans are idiots. Just the ones who are currently in positions of authority (okay, except John McCain).

I think old school Republicans had more brains than they do now. My theory is that there was probably some strange brain-sucking virus somewhere during the Nixon administration.

I buy that theory. What the hell did Canada do to them?!

I really don't know. Maybe universal health care scares the hell out of Republicans? Or maybe it's because someone from Tennessee isn't used to snow?

Also? Go take a look at this:

Canadian World Domination.

A warning, though: it's very easy to follow link after link and get completely sucked in. You'll look up and see that you've spent hours drowning in virtual Canadiana. Which is not a bad thing, mind you (says the dork who is actually in the process of reading this ).

Wow, sister, you really ARE a Canadageek! You are just as Canadageeky as I am Irelandgeeky. I bow before you! (I even used my icon with the Canada geese. It's as close to a Canada icon as I can get!)

Oh, I dunno, I'm pretty Irelandgeeky. You should see my bookshelves. I have this, this, this, this, this, and this, among a bunch of others.

The Canada section is much smaller, actually, even though I've been a practicing Canadaphile for ten years. I make up for it by the vast amount of Canadian music I own. And I need to read this book, because I always rant about how everyone knows so much about the US government but we don't know doodles about anyone else. I figured I'd better walk the walk, and all. Also because I'm a Canadageek. And a general dork *g*
