But it definitely should be a galloping horse. Definitely definitely. Not an out of control galloping horse, though, because that? Isn't so much fun. Especially when it's because the horse has gotten bitten by a snake.
That's not a galloping horse? *shrugs* I didn't make the mood theme, ducky. Probably not out of control, because, well, it's Fraser, and since the M in RCMP doesn't stand for Motorised, I'm assuming he can ride adequately. [/meta]
I should. Should be around tonight. I had to loan Sandra my car last night, and follow her to the gas station, yadda yadda, so by the time I got home there was only time to be online sporadically. Now I am carless, so we shall see.
It's all malnpudl's fault. She's the one who pimped them so hard I thought, hmm, I'll go take a look at YouTube. I found this:
The rest is musicgeekery history. Guh. This wasn't too long ago, mind you, so I'm still Investigating, which in my dictionary means 'find out everydamnthing about whatever it is I'm Investigating'.
Ah yes the boys from Kingston, Ontario which is a lovely little city about 3 hours east of Toronto. They really are the best band to come out of Canada since "The Guess Who" of early 70s fame. Gord Downie is an odd duck but heh, we all have our quirks. :)

I think you have to be a little off to be a rock star, anyway. I would not exactly call Sir Elton one of your mainstream, ordinary people. Have you read his biography? If you haven't, you so should.
Erm. That would be Sir Elton's bio, not Gord Downie's. :)
I have intermittant connectivity problems, so I'm not sure how soon I'll have it for you, but I should be able to get it done within the next day or two.
Primrose how could you ask such a thing? I quite enjoyed the Philip Norman book. Given it was written in 1991 I think it is time for an update. Especially since Elton's whole life has changed since that time --not to mention he has put out some great music. And in fact, not only was Elton an odd duck, HE WORE A DUCK COSTUME at Wembley Stadium!!!!!!!! :)
specially since Elton's whole life has changed since that time --not to mention he has put out some great music.
What I liked about that bio was that even though it wasn't 'authorised', Elton approved it, so I figured it was pretty upfront.
I remember the section about Elton being in a hotel and calling the staff to ask them to turn down the wind so he could sleep (or something along those lines). That part for me is a real example of how much he's changed since those days (which were even before the book was written). I'd definitely read an update.

I thought of that after I pressed the 'send' button on the comment. *g*
Oh, BTW, do you know if Bernie's a US citizen? I've always wondered but never read it anywhere. Now there's a guy who needs a biography. If there's ever been one, I've never seen it.
There are, I think, about 75 tracks, mostly of them live TTH, but also a few things that were in fact released by other groups and on which one or more Hip guys sang or played or whatever. (Thus the HDRC and Stripper's Union and the like.)
Good question. I am not sure if he is or not--- which is why we need a darn biography to tell us!! I think you should write it. Elton could do an introduction for you. It is all good. :)
