Ah, yes, another night shift.
1. Describe your idea of a perfect day. It could be a memory, or a wish or a dream. Feel free to include magic or time travel or whatever you want. It's your day, after all.
2. Hottest. Pic. Ever. I stole this idea from someone, but y'know.
3. Pimp me a place to travel to, and tell me why my life will be so much bleaker if I don't go there.
4. Write something. Anything, really.
5. Send me a songfile. I can't download it at work, but I will when I get home.
6. Two words: Fic Rec. Most of you know my fandoms. :)
7. Write something (drabble, ficlet, heck, write a novel!) containing one or more of the following sentences:
1. It was all over when the old lady dropped the bowling ball.
2. Contrary to the old saying, failure is sometimes a completely reasonable option.
3. It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.
4. To accept it is impossible, to live without it unthinkable.
5. It's a repository of possibility.
6. Okay, this is not happening.
7. I've always wanted to see the ocean.
8. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of having my own things about me.
9. When life gives you lemons, throw 'em at someone you hate.
10. How can you think of food at a time like this?
8. One word (sorta): picspam. Any picspam at all. Be as random as you want. Or don't want.
I was gonna come up with ten ideas, but I could only think of eight, because I'm sleepy.

Date: 2006-12-11 08:38 am (UTC)will to liveenergy to be entertaining, but I love your list of sentences. (It made me just realise that Fraser and Ray could quite possibly never have seen the ocean. That's boggling. Oh, wait, does the Arctic Ocean count? Because Fraser's totally been there. Probably sunbathed.)(no subject)
Date: 2006-12-11 08:45 am (UTC)Ooh, interesting question. The best two days that I ever actually lived... that was my trip to the Grand Canyon. We did the two day mule ride down to the bottom (with an overnight stay) and then back up. I've never felt closer to anything that I might call "God".
But if I were to imagine a perfect day now? With any sort of magicking I want in order to make it happen, and no reality constraints? Okay. This is subject to change without notice, and if you ask me tomorrow you'll get a different answer, but at this moment, I'd want to spend a day at the TTH recording studio with the Hip and the HDRC, listening to them jam and rehearse and record, and occasionally singing along with them.
2. Hottest. Pic. Ever.
This could've been any of several (mostly featuring Paul or Callum or Hugh), but at this particular moment, this one wins:
3. Pimp me a place to travel to, and tell me why my life will be so much bleaker if I don't go there.
BASCon. Or any slash con, really, but I'm pushing for BASCon because hey, I'll be there and that way I'd get to meet you. There is nothing like the community of a couple of hundred fen.
4. Write something. Anything, really.
The first paragraph of the F/K Kisses thing I just started (but that's not yet finished):
Ray closed the door and threw his jacket toward the closet. Okay, maybe he slammed the door, which he could tell from the loud bang and the dirty look Fraser shot him as he picked up Ray's jacket off the floor and dusted it off and meticulously arranged it on a hanger. It looked a lot like the dirty look that Fraser had given him when he put the hurt on the dirtbag they'd busted for plagiarism that afternoon ("energetically subdued" was what Fraser said later to Welsh, and Ray had to give him credit for that, anyway). It also looked a lot like the dirty look Fraser gave him when he punched the Close Door button on the elevator two or three or maybe seven or eight times so Dewey couldn't ride down with them, and the dirty look he'd given Ray for gunning it through a yellow light on the way to pick up their Chinese take-out. Not to mention the one for the other yellow light on the way to Ray's apartment.
5. Send me a songfile. I can't download it at work, but I will when I get home.
I'm covered for this one, right? *g*
Okay, that's all for now. Maybe more later. Depending.

I've been to a couple of HP cons, and hung out with a bunch of slash fen. A pure slash con would be a very new thing. *g*

I can see this entire scene. Very Kowalski, yessir.

You SO are. :)

Date: 2006-12-11 09:34 am (UTC)I'm not sure about that perfect day... I could describe a good one, but the perfect day... that's really difficult. But I can tell you what it would include: An evening with my friends, drinking and dancing. And then, late at night some of us would get out into town. There's not much going on, so we'd just wander around until we'd find an empty space. And there we'd start acting. Just goofing around with sketches and lines of plays we can dig up from classes and books we've read, mixing them up and creating something new and bizarre, but absolutely beautiful.
I did that once, on my last class trip to Barcelona, and it was the best night of my life. I'd really like to repeat it, but you can't plan something like that. It just had to happen. Which it would on my perfect day.

Date: 2006-12-11 09:37 am (UTC)More random hotness picspam, because Hugh Dillon's Sweaty NippleTM never gets old. At least not if you're me.
And then there's the incredible hi-res CKR Lucid promo pic, which I'm linking to instead of imbedding because it's HUGE. It's worth looking at it full-size and zooming in. His eyes!

5. Bruuuce!
6. I have to read this one at home, too, but I will as soon as I get there. I think I may have read it before, but IIRC, it's worth reading again. :)

Date: 2006-12-12 02:05 am (UTC)I've decided we need to act as study buddies wrt ALACE. I haven't done a THING since I got my 1st & 2nd modules back in, oh, AUGUST. So maybe we could set aside a night that works for both of us, once every two weeks or something, and check in with each other at intervals. Maybe two hour intervals or just one and a half... not just one, though, I don't think that's enough.
Because I'm finished paying for it - and therefore, you should be too - and that means when we finish modules one through six, we can take the exam and be officially provisionally certified. Whee! :)

Date: 2006-12-12 06:49 pm (UTC)Writing about my Dalaigh boys and the Rodhain rogue. From sun up through sun down. Being in such a groove that I forget to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, check email, answer the phone, even breathe at times. Similarly, having my next 3-6 chapters fall into my lap like manna from Heaven.
2. Hottest. Pic. Ever. I stole this idea from someone, but y'know.
My masculine ideal. If he ever looked at me like this, I'd instantly liquify.
And because, well, he's Johnny Depp
3. Pimp me a place to travel to, and tell me why my life will be so much bleaker if I don't go there.
The northerly ride along the Pacific Coast Highway between Santa Barbara and San Francisco. It is, without question, one of the most breathtaking drives in the world. You experience everything from rolling hills filled with meadow flowers to tall trees to sheer rock face to the right and sheer cliff to the left, all while the Pacific Ocean fills the driver's window with all its majesty.
4. Write something. Anything, really.
This one, along with #7 will appear in my journal shortly.
5. Send me a songfile. I can't download it at work, but I will when I get home.
"Are You Watching Closely" (http://download.yousendit.com/42B3A2B51F290F86) from the soundtrack to "The Prestige." It's very moody, atmospheric, and ethereal and it's all that I have been writing to for about the past month. If you want a perfect piece to listen to whilst reading my book this is it.
6. Two words: Fic Rec. Most of you know my fandoms. :)
"For Now" by Te. (http://avalon.net/~nonie/spike/fornow.htm) M/K. It references another work by another author, but this stands well on it's own. I adore the style. I belive you'll love it.
7. Write something (drabble, ficlet, heck, write a novel!) containing one or more of the following sentences: 4. To accept it is impossible, to live without it unthinkable.
