Mom Update:

My mom's at Westerly Hospital as of this morning, apparently with low BP and messed-up labs/EKG. I spoke to her on the phone, and since [livejournal.com profile] songdog's going to go down there, she figured I could go tomorrow. She's getting two more units of blood, which she dismisses as "I've been anaemic all my life", to which I said, "Yeah, but you didn't need to get a transfusion every couple of weeks all your life." She said the EKG is abnormal, but that could mean anything, and she didn't know why, either.

She was doing completely fine until two days ago, so I don't know. I hope it's just meds and there's not anything funky like an internal bleed of some sort going on, because that would likely mean more surgery and that's just not cool. She's got a ton of stamina, so I'm concerned, but not worried at the moment. At least I'm trying not to be.

And because I need an injection of good moodiness, here's some

post-as-you-go picspam! In other words, I'm (fairly) randomly pic-surfing, so I have no idea what I'm posting until I do it. Most of these caps are from the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] stormymouse's site (definitely an EFS--Essential Fannish Site. Go tell her how much you love her for it). A couple of them are [livejournal.com profile] sara_merry99's caps.

Firstly, a fandom gymnastics lesson.

Demonstrated here is the proper presentation of Paul Gross Arms, Modified Form #1:
1.

Paul Gross Arms, Modified Form #2 (AKA Paul Gross Arm). Note placement of legs, as proper leg positioning is essential to correct stance:
2.

Look, it's Baby!Geoffrey with Anna Scorpio:

Baby!Geoffrey does research for a role as a priest without losing his fashion sense:
4.

Baby!Geoffrey angsts very prettily:
5.

OTP OF ALL TIME, YES:
6.

This is Fraser. He wears three shirts, because dressing in layers is warm:
7.

This is also Fraser. Sometimes he doesn't wear as many shirts, like in prison where it's warmer:
8.

Fraser wears blue a lot, except when he's working for Truth, Justice, and the Canadian Way. Then he wears red serge, with a very high collar:
9.

Unless of course, he's wearing this, which he doesn't do nearly enough:
10.

Fraser. Benton Fraser.:
11.

This is the AntiFraser. I don't know how many shirts he wears. I'm not sure if I want to find out but I'm willing to give it the old college try:
12.

My Geoffrey, all grown up. You know that he's half-crazy, but that's why you want to be there [/Leonard Cohen] :
13.

This isn't Geoffrey, he just plays him on TV:
12.

Well, okay, it started out random.

I'm suddenly craving a smoothie. Mambo smoothie, to be precise, from the Garden Grille.

Oh, and also, does anyone get the Hallmark Channel? Because, I'd really like a clear recording of this.

Yikes. I hope your mom gets better soon. That sounds like one of those situations where you don't quite know if you should just be mildly worried or super worried. Either way - it's a bit scary IMHO.
These pics are lovely. He justs gets better and better looking. In fact - I prefer him now with the little wrinkles and lines. I will examine these VERY closely again before I go to sleep and hopefully he will walk through my dreams tonight! eeeww - I didn't mean that to sound kind of stalkery but I am afraid that it did.

I agree, although people think I'm nuts when I say that I think Geoffrey is more attractive than Alex Bresnyachuk. Alex is pretty and a little gratuitous (and what's with the brown contacts?). Geoffrey is seasoned and gorgeous because of it.

Not to be exceedlingly graphic but methinks that Geoffrey knows exactly what to do with that lovely tongue and Alex would just be guessing!

The thing about Fraser is that I could spend hours talking to him about anything and everything. And then you get the kind and moral and noble stuff that goes with it, and then you get the fact that Fraser's good at, well, everything.
So what if he's my Fake!brother. Some families are closer than others, is all. *g*

I hope things work out for your mom ::sends healing vibes:: and that things aren't serious.

And in regards to Paul Gross, I ordered a few more of his... films today. Two aren't, apparently, great works, but they were under $10.

And did you see the preview clip of Trojan Horse?? ::flails:: It looks amazing!

Aspen Extreme (going for young and pretty); 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (going for sweaty, manly and floopy hair) and Whale Music (token Canadian art flick). All from amazon.ca ::moans my poor, abused Visa card::

I think I've psyched myself up for AE, because I'm shallow like that. 20,000 Leagues makes me wince a little.

Whale Music, I'll see, but for reasons having nothing to do with Paul Gross and everything to do with Maury Chaykin, because I love him, and I've heard he's amazing in this one. Like he's not in everything else he does.

Well, whenever I think about watching one of those 'wince inducing' projects, I just remind myself that it earned him a paycheque and got him some exposure. There are worse things to be than a stand-out performer in a crappy film.

Maury Chaykin kind of gives me the wig. Not that he isn't a great actor, but something about him has always made nervous ::shrugs:: So, Whale Music is all about Paul for me :)

I'm sorry Primrose, you can't import water from Canada. First of all, you need to destabilise the entire country, try to get America's currency and military, then strike a deal with them, blow up all the power grids, blame it on Al-Qaeda and then watch as the US military goes "Ya know what? We'll just invade you! Woohoo Free water!".

Since [livejournal.com profile] peacey has gone all Richard Armitage and outed labelled me as a deep cover operative for Ottawa, I'm afraid I'm not mentally equipped for the task able to respond at this time.

Ostensibly, if she's right, I'm not into the destabilisation of Canada, but rather quite the opposite. Um. Not that I'm admitting to anything.

*hugs back* I saw my mom this morning, and she's feeling a bit better. They're waiting for her coumadin levels to go down and then they'll do an endoscopy. The suspected problem is a bleed somewhere. Apparently they're not thinking cardiac, so that's good.

Now I'm not 100% certain that this is the right person - he has an older brother by the same name - but all the details and ages seem to sort of fit, given what we know.
