Well, I like Gore. And Boxer.

And Yay! I still don't like him, but Mr. Paisley came through, finally, so good for him. For the money, maybe, but still.

Paisley and his ilk painted themselves into a corner. The money was a carrot, to be sure, as was the fact that if the DUP and Sinn Fein didn't meet the deadline, Dublin would have more say in Northern Ireland politics. That's mostly Catholic Dublin. I don't imagine that sat well with the DUP.
