When it comes to Great Lakes, big is big. They all go on forfuckingever. Toss a little salt in them and they become seas because they all empty out into the Atlantic.

From Wikipedia:

Superior is the biggest fresh water lake (measured by surface area) on Earth. It's surface area is nearly 32,000 square miles - larger than South Carolina. There is enough water in Lake Superior to cover the entire land mass of North and South America with a foot (30 cm) of water. The shoreline of the lake stretches 2,726 miles (including islands). At it's deepest point, it's over 1300 feet deep. Waves regularly swell over 20 feet in storms; waves over 30 feet have been recorded. I am utterly terrified of this lake. It is the only one I haven't been out on. By choice.

Huron is the second largest Great Lake and the third largest fresh water lake on Earth. It covers over 23,000 square miles (about the size of West Virginia), goes down over 750 feet at it's deepest and has a shoreline of over 3,800 miles (note that that's far greater than Superior). Huron is my baby. :)

Today's IMDB poll is "Which film has the best visual effects?". I voted Star Wars, but Matrix leads.
