Mom puts bullying daughter in her place. I don't know how I feel about this. On the one hand, school bullying needs to be stopped, like last century. On the other, isn't this just another form of bullying? It's kind of a scarlet letter.

I'm in the middle of a massive triage of my wardrobe. Dude, there are clothes in my closet I haven't warn since the early nineties at the latest. Also I have a whole pile of skirts that are designed to look like hippie-chic but instead serve to make me look like Mother Hubbard. The Salvation Army will be happy to get all of these, I'm hoping. They're in good shape.

My writer's block is definitely over, but still needs a jump start. I think people missed this last time I posted it, so I'll try again:

I would assume the girl was mortified and embarrassed. And that's fine -- because that's what she was doing to the other kids. Sometimes a bully needs to know that there will always be bigger fish than they are, so they can experience first hand the kind of emotions they're inflicting on those they bully.

In brief: fine with me. It's good to see a parent actually take action with a misbehaving child.

Thanks for the input. I've been really trying to figure this out. Being a survivor of bullying myself, it's a real dilemma. And you make a point that's on my mental list o' points.

You know, just a couple weeks ago I too cleaned out my closets. Many, many things went to a consignment shop (yay, too big now!), but I found one little gem that I'd forgotten about and am now, at this very moment, wearing. Black tshirt, red lettering: "I'd rather be cuffing Krycek."

As for the bullying thing, I don't see the harm in it. At all. The mother had tried all the expected steps to no avail. Bravo to her for coming up with something original that turns the tables and lets the bully experience the humiliation she inflicted on the bully-ee (although I wonder if the girl was just saying what she thought her Mom wanted to hear).
