Tonight's dinner: Salad with mixed spring greens, strawberries, onions, lowfat feta and lowfat champagne-pear vinaigrette dressing. It's basically a modified version of the salad I pay eleven bucks for at Pizza Rustica. Om nom nom.

Although, really, if I could actually BE at Pizza Rustica I'd cough up the dough. Because it's about the ambiance as much as the food, and looking out on Blue Jays Way is way cooler than staring at my unpainted walls and unmade bed. In other words? Toronto, I'm over being mad at you. Can I come back now?

That sounds delicious. Are the berries whole? sliced? diced?

You do have an ocean nearby, though, yes?

That salad sounds amazing (though I'd toss in some figs). I want it in my belly now.

Also, I miss you. 'Tis been a while since we chatted.

PS. I still have not given up my quest to get you hooked on Game of Thrones (the books, and now HBO megahit). When are you going to believe me that you'd love it?

Fragola salad has cherry tomatoes and candied pecans and poppyseed dressing, and also goat cheese instead of feta. But it's the same basic salad, and I can do without the cherry tomatoes.

I'm planning on starting the first book within days. Maybe even tomorrow. I can't find my copy (some stuff still hasn't seen the outside of a box since I moved a year ago). I may break down and get the kindle version.

I won't watch the movie until I've at least read the first book, though, because that's how I roll.

I'm gonna have to write you an email one of these days.

OMGYAAAAAY!!

A girl can hook you up.

Definitely the way to go here. Also, it's not a movie, but an HBO series wherein each season equates roughly to one of the books in the series (four books so far, with the fifth of seven dropping next month). Presently there are two eps to go in the magnificent first season, so by the time you finish the first book, you'll be all set to watch the show. If the DVD set hasn't dropped yet, a girl can also hook you up.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm fanatical about both the books and the show, and I'm giddy that you're finally giving them a whirl! Oooh, and the opening credits of the show might be quite useful to you now. There are maps at the front of each book (absolutely necessary for readers to check out, and almost impossible to see in kindle format), but they're not near as fun to look at as this:
