...in which Paul Gross brings down the government.

Well, okay, not really, but if he really wanted to I definitely wouldn't bet against him.

Senate O'Canada, you have SO just been outclassed. And categorically pwned.

And um? I think someone mentioned that they were going to record the hearing? Hopefully? Because I sort of forgot it was Wednesday and I missed it. Eep.

Was that not just the most awesome thing ever? Every y time I think he can't be smarter or prettier he proves me wrong.

And that's okay with me.

PS. When I saw the title of your LJ, I expected to see the subtitle: "And lunchtime doubly so."

And this is before caffeine.

Definitely not just another pretty face, that one. And someone DID capture the video, so I'll finally get to see it.

Dude. You need to read this. I really think you'd like it.

There's scary parts, but it's not about teh scary like some of SK's stories are. It's more LOTR meets Sergio Leone westerns.

Downloaded and watched the first part.
He actually wears glasses! I didn't know that...
Apparently, I have a thing for glasses - McLaughlin, Paul... Glasses look great on both", PG and his power-obsessed character!

Pretty much everyone over 45 wears glasses to read. Bulletin: Paul looks much better in glasses than I do.

THERE'S A RECORDING?!
Says Bjohan57, who finally got a new computer, and is trying to catch up with everything. Have heard amazing reports of his appearance here...and, you mean, there is a way I can actually watch it?

Not that I'm desperate or anything.

You can find it at The Place That Must Not Be Named. It's choppy and takes a long time to download, but it's worth it, trust me.

It's too big for me :( I'll just have to live vicariously through you :) What happens then? Apart from some long-sighted hick from Alberta wiping the floor with policy-makers? :)

Maybe you could download one part at a time, and then delete each one after you're done? Or is it a bandwidth issue rather than a hard drive oen?

I wish I knew how to put it on a DVD and mail it to you, because it's glorious. If you can find me anyone who knows how, I'll do it.

I haven't watched it through in one long stretch (the tracking or whatever it's called is very choppy), but basically it's Paul being respectful and direct and disassembling every argument thrown at him. The bar has totally been raised on how impressed I am (and it was pretty high to begin with).

Oh I'm beginning to yearn now.

Its mostly a time issue. I tried downloading part 1 but it would have taken 5 hours alone and I just never have that kind of time any more.

Thank you very much for your DVD offer though, that's enormously kind of you.

After watching this, where do you think the Bill C-10 thing will go? Will they pass it? I find it a ridiculous arguement that they would implement it and THEN discuss it. Utterly mind-boggling.

Had his life gone in a different direction, Paul would have been an excellent politician in truth. Still might be.

Can you leave your computer on for five hours and do other stuff? That's what I usually do when I DL things (Does the UK charge for minutes? I forget).

After watching this, where do you think the Bill C-10 thing will go?

You know, I'm not sure. I think I'd want to hand that question over to an actual Canadian. [livejournal.com profile] meresy has been following the story since it broke. I have, too, but I don't live there, y'know? I don't get the water-cooler speculation and things.

Had his life gone in a different direction, Paul would have been an excellent politician in truth.

The thing is, he doesn't sound like a politician. Maybe because he's not lying? *g*
