And okay, so I get why this happened, and it's a nice gesture on one level, but did anyone stop to think of the DOG? It's like, okay, dog, you're a hero, so as a reward you get RIPPED AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY. Not. On.


In a related thought, these kinds of stories are another example of why another [livejournal.com profile] ds_northernnews challenge would be a wonderful thing.

Maybe that's what was originally thought? Apparently he belonged to someone, which IMO makes it a bad thing to just give him away. Especially since the kid was two years old and wouldn't even remember the dog down the road, but the dog sure would remember the family he lost, no matter how nice the new one might be. Dogs remember stuff for a long time.
