I was a doula once for a woman who ended up with an emergency section because the doc induced her before the baby had dropped. The head was too high, and he artificially broke her water, which caused the cord to end up being compressed by the baby's head. The doc had to keep his hand pushed up inside her vagina until they could get her to the OR.
