ILU Geoffrey, oh, yes I dooooo

I'm actually starting to answer my character meme comments without letting months go by, go me!

First one, from lucifuge_5 (HI, LUCE, HOWTHEHECKAREYOU?): Geoffrey Tennant!

* How I FEEEEEL about this character.

I love him, which is obvious. I love his talent, his eccentricity, his devotion to Ellen and to his art, his dry wit, his intellect, his hair, his clothes, that little-boy-lost look he has. Oh, and he is so, so pretty and doesn't even know it.

I'm with Leonard Cohen: I know that he's half-crazy, but that's why I want to be there. Did I mention I love him? I do, so very much.

* All the people I ship romantically with this character.

Ellen, period. Sure, there's obvious unrequited Geoffrey/Oliver, but it's one-sided on Oliver's part, so it doesn't count for the question.

* My non-romantic OTP for this character.

Geoffrey/Anna is my platonic OTP for the whole show. They are so very good for each other in a BFF way. And in an AU where Ellen doesn't exist and never has, I would ship them romantically.

* My unpopular opinion about this character.

I think he's straight. As in not gay, not bi. That being said, I still like the idea that he and Darren had a thing back when they were in university. ;)

* One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon.

SEASON FOUR, DAMMIT. I would have loved to see him and Ellen trying to run Theatre Sans Argent together.

We see eye-to-eye in pretty much everything Geoffrey-related, Prim. Hee!

Except that I don't see him with Darren at all (not even back during their uni days) nor would I ship him with Anna (even if Ellen didn't exist.)

OTOH, I do think that for Season 4, Ellen should have brought Sloan into her life with Geoffrey. While it's true that I don't know how far things would have gone between Geoffrey and Sloan (since, in my head, they're both very, very straight), I can see them happily co-existing and loving Ellen almost equally.

I don't think anyone seriously thinks he's gay, not with how much he obsessed about Ellen. But I don't think he has more than the slightest attraction to men, if that.
