patchfire: The worst level would become orange, because orange is a horrid colour

primroseburrows: There'd be more levels, too. Because colours speak volumes. Charcoal alert, for example.
primroseburrows: And sage might be the lowest. Soothing.

I don't remember now where I heard it, but there was someone who gave the alert colors the names of Sesame Street characters of the same color. Our latest Orange Alert, of course is an "Ernie Alert", yellow is a "Bert Alert" (I suppose Big Bird, too, but "Bert Alert" just sounds better), and red is presumably an "Elmo Alert".
