Meme from [livejournal.com profile] wayfairer:

FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER:

Current DVD to Watch: I don't have one yet. I'd go buy Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but I put it on my wishlist, and, well. Can't buy ANYTHING from my wishlist.

Current Movie to Watch: I was going to say Alexander, but the reviews coming in are so bad I don't know if I'll see it. Maybe Finding Neverland?

Current Actor to Watch: Probably Johnny Depp, although Ewan is always first. *g*

Current Music to Hear: Tossup between Elton and Bernie's Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy and the Flash Girls' Play Each Morning Wild Queen.

Current Book to Read: Perdido Street Station by China Mieville.

Current pastime to commit to: Writing. Must. Make. Time.

Current song to sing: Whatever I feel like at the time. My singing is mercurial.

Current food: Nime Chow. I can't stop!

Current drink: Coffee.

Oh, and:

American Gods
You are American Gods! You are mysterious,
intelligent, and creative. To the rest of the
world you may seem a little standoffish, but
really youre just a quiet person. Youre sort of
bookish and are intrigued by mythology and
fairy tales. You might be Wiccan or Pagan,
either that or youre unreligious. You have a
sarcastic sense of humor and are the kind of
person people like to talk to because youre
such a good listener.

*~Which Neil Gaiman book are you?~*
brought to you by Quizilla

I always thought I was Neverwhere. But it's accurate except the part about being quiet. Am not quiet. Mneh.

*reads Amazon's description of Enigma*

Ooh, this sounds good!

I own exactly two comic books graphic novels--Preludes and Nocturnes and A Doll's House (Sandman vols. 1 and 2). I'd never read any other comics either. I figured the little pictures clogged up the (more important) words. But, I figured if Neil wrote it, it's worth a look, and surprise! I found that comics aren't just Archie and Batman. Sandman, at least, is a lovely new mythology. It's no wonder there are people going to conventions dressed up as Death. You should read these. *nods emphatically*

And, alas, I have never read Stardust. I've been looking for the illustrated version and can't find it for the life of me, so I gave up and put the un-illustrated version on my wishlist, and of course, I can't buy anything on said list until after Christmas.

I really do wish I hadn't put Coraline on the list, because wah, I want to read it Now!

I mean, gee:

"'The reason you cannot see the mouse circus,' said the man upstairs, 'is that the mice are not yet ready and rehearsed. And they refuse to play the songs I have written for them. All the songs I have written for the mice to play go oompah oompah. But the white mice will only play toodle oodle, like that. I am thinking of trying them on different types of cheese.'"

Why yes, I can be ten when I want. It's loads of fun *g* Is it Christmas yet?
