Yay!
I now have the
Brokeback Mountain soundtrack. It's all country songs and lovely acoustic instrumentals. It's got Willie and Steve Earle and Rufus (RUFUS!) among others, and Emmylou singing a brand-new song with lyrics by none other than
my Bernie.
Keeping on topic, I do not understand this, from
here:The "Brokeback" musical choices are as intriguing as the movie's plot. For example, while "A Love that Will Never Grow Old" is a brand-new song by Santaolalla and Elton John's lyricist Bernie Taupin, it would be nice to know if it was written specifically for the soundtrack of a film that tells the story of two men who fall in love -- and, if so, why a woman was chosen to sing the song.Um? Because Emmylou Harris has the most amazing voice pretty much ever, that's why, and it fits the song very well.
