I'm fed up with Dubya and his ilk pushing war and corruption on me in the name of "Family Values".
I'm fed up with the fact that people asking for equal rights are said to be asking for "Special Rights".
I'm fed up with the Doublespeak this country has adopted as its political language.
For these reasons, and a thousand others, I'm going to do what I said I'd never do--I'm joining a political party. The Greens? you might ask. The Socialists? The Cool Moose Party? Nope. I've decided to become a Democrat.
I've been an Independent voter since I was old enough to vote (please don't do the math--you'll break your fingers). Joining a party is a big detour for me. But I've decided that the way to do it is to help change the system from within the system. Moving to Canada is not an option, we have to stand, right here and right now (and yes, I know that's two SK references in a row. Sue me. ;))
So as soon as I can (next paycheck, because I want to contribute), I'm becoming a card-carrying member of the Democratic Party. Partly because of what I've already mentioned, partly because I think the Democrats need more variety in membership, but mostly right now because the Democrats finally have someone to give them voice, even if that voice makes people nervous. Sooo...I'm joining the party right now mostly because...

He always has, yessir.
Thanks a million to
