Why let that stop you? I got the idea from reading someone else's story. *shrugs* I totally understand about the not-reading though. I'm refraining from reading one series of books by Susan Sizemore because it features characters very similar to the original novel that I've got half-finished. I don't want to be influenced. But, dude! Write it if you want! I'm not changing anything to accomodate canon as it evolves. I just figure it's "officially AU" now. ;-) Because Black isn't dead! He's integral to my plot, darn it!

#6 I never can figure this out. People aren't shaped like animals (unless they're John Gihorse or Petunia Dursley). It's an odd kind of association, ranging from appearance to behavior to really indefinable things. And some people don't remind me of anything but themselves.

#7 How does one join a band? Because I'd like to. Vocals, at least. Joining is the easy part. Surviving the drummer's spontaneous combustion is tough. ;-) Seriously though? Check your local musician's rag for "vocalist wanted" and put an ad in for yourself. Talk to your friends who are musicians and see if any of them want to perform with you. Go to local gigs and meet people. Take your guitar to your favorite open mike and perform. For me, it's been hooking up with people I know and saying "Hey! Let's play together!"

I did eventually read your fic (I love it!). Someday I might pick mine up and revamp it again, but right now I'm working (sort of ) on something else, which actually doesn't need to change much post OotP. If I ever have time/energy/inspiration, that is.
