The Upside of ADHD.

"Instead of only focusing on the difficulties posed by ADHD, today, the upsides are likely to be noted, too: the quick-wittedness, the speedy grasp of the big picture and the great enthusiasm for nearly everything. These traits make ADHDers endearing and simultaneously exasperating."

Endearing and exasperating. I think I like being both of those things. *beams*

Nobody stopped to hear him,
Though he played so sweet and high.
They knew he had never been on their TV,
So they passed his music by.
I meant to go over and ask for a song
Maybe put on a harmony...
I heard his refrain
As the signal changed
He was playing real good, for free

Please allow me to recommend to you (if I haven't already) the book "The Edison Trait" by Lucy Jo Palladino. I read it several years ago, when the school district was asking me to have my son tested for ADD and wanting to put him in special ed. I did both of these things, to no avail (negative on ADD and special services didn't keep his grades from sliding into the basement by the end of Middle School).

In reading the book, thought I recognized my son and I definitely recognized myself, which was a bit surprising but... it's helped me figure out what motivates me and what kind of environment I work best in.

Good stuff.
