Have added "sleeping" to my LJ interests, because, well. I'm just that kind of fun-loving, full-of-life kind of person. Also because I went to bed at 12:30 last night, which is way early. Got up at 6:30-ish and am now showered, yay!

Oh, and. Yesterday I happened upon a little ficlet called Tea. Yes, Virginia, it's Rupert Giles/Qui-Gon Jinn, written in 2001. I haven't seen an episode of Buffy in ages, and haven't seen The Phantom Menace in an eternity longer than that. But I was curious, and what do you know? It's a sweet, tender story that I not only loved, but I wanted to read the novel-length, chaptered sequel, which, of course, doesn't exist. I was also struck by how alike these two characters are, and wanted to know if anything happened next, if anything could happen next. I actually woke up a couple of times thinking "What would happen if..."
And, no, I'm not going to write it. I've got enough stuff started. I think I write like I knit--I have a million things started and nothing finished. But does anyone know if this Misha person has an LJ? I'd love to give her a review and I don't really want to do it through email.

Thank you, a million times over, for that fic rec. It was marvelous.

Isn't it just? I found it by almost random chance, through someone on [livejournal.com profile] audiography, of all places.

I want a sequel! What if Qui-Gon didn't become one with the Force right after the whole Darth Maul debacle, and instead ended up in Sunnydale? Hey, I've read worse AU plots. :)

I didn't go to sleep until 12:30 either, though not for lack of trying. Between a runny nose, coughing, and a child burrowing against me, it just wouldn't happen. Even though I went to bed at, what, 11:15? Argh.

After my nutritious breakfast of Thin Mints, I think it's time to go wake up my child. The older one. The younger one's been awake for thirty minutes. He used to wake up at eight. Why has he been waking up early the last three or four days?

IIRC, it's common in babies as they get older to wake up earlier. Depends on when they go to bed, I guess.

Work today, dahlink. *sigh*

Bah. He's been trying to change his napping at the same time. You can imagine how pleasant that makes him. (And, of course, whenever he goes to bed, he sleeps for two to two and a half hours, wakes up, stays up for 45 minutes to an hour, THEN goes back to sleep for the rest of the night.)

I will be at Book Club whilst you are at work. Hopefully I will finish the book before then. :P

Kids: How Biology and Culture Shape the Way We Raise Young Children, Meredith Small.

Luckily, I've read it before (I own it), and it's a pretty easy read. I'm already on the fourth or fifth chaper of ten.

I should add sleeping to mine - it's what I seem to spend most of my time doing.
