Going back to cleaning in a minute, but I had to share these pictures [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by sent me today, all the way from Germany (must have taken AIM an extra half-second or two to get here, woah!).

I'll try not to be too, "And this is Uncle Ned in front of the house. This is Uncle Ned on the side of the house, but you can still see the front of the house."

This is where the Berlin Wall used to stand. I think it's the coolest picture of them all:

Two from a butterfly garden of some sort (I forget what he said it was):

Outside the Waldorf School the class stayed at in Berlin. The shirt says "Vorsicht! Ich kann Eurythmie!", which means "Watch out, I know Eurythmy!" Waldorf people will get it, don't worry. *g*:

Rock On:

Skiing The Alps in Austria. Gorgeous view. Dontcha just want to sing "The hills are alive with the sound of muuuusiiic"?:

Part of the Berlin Wall:

The sign for the U-Bahn station at Checkpoint Charlie:

That is all. Sorry for the attack on your servers.

I'm all wibbly now, because, wah, [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by has been gone for 69 days (so he tells me) and says he's now at the halfway point. So over two months!

And...rest of my family, I need more pictures from you, too! I have two of Caleb (one with his lovely fiancee [livejournal.com profile] tapped_trish), maybe two or three each of [livejournal.com profile] i_am_a_hannah and her sister Mary. Oh, and one of me Mum. [livejournal.com profile] songdog, I don't think I have any of you, and only a couple of a couple of your kids. Do send, guys!

Also, *le sigh*. I love this 2003 interview with Ashley MacIsaac. Not just because his fiddle is brilliant (that it is), but all his family and friends and acquaintances are calling up the show saying, "Ashley, I know you. I'm so-and-so's cousin, you remember him?" And Ashley says something like, "Oh, yes, I do, and do you remember when his brother used to come up and visit". All the friends and relatives calling up, and everyone with my favourite accent in the universe. I have to make definite plans to go back to Cape Breton, and start doing it soon. Of course it would have to be for Celtic Colours, because how could it not be? And since I've been to Cape Breton twice, both times in Winter(!), I should at least go in another season. :) Oh, and one woman who now lives in Massachusetts said "I've been up here since (whatever year she said, I forget)". I knew someone from New Waterford (who sadly, is no longer with us) who used to ask me, "So, when are you coming down to visit again"? Such a wonderful, loving, lovely place. I would live there were it not for the cold winters.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by? I LOVE the hair. I don't think I've liked your hairstyle so much since you were ten. Very nice.

Okay, now. Back to Teh Cleaning. *wibbles off*

[livejournal.com profile] mr_t00by looks freakishly like my senior prom date from 1998, especially in the first butterfly garden photo. :))

He's starting to eerily look like my nephew Jonathan. I mean, they're related, but. Jon's always looked like me. I thought Isaac had been resembling his dad of late, but I guess he's still got my genes in there somewhere.

Awww. Now I will say what I said earlier, except where he actually has to read it. Or, rather, could read it. Which is that he's Filled Out quite a bit since I saw him last.

But he's not really that tall, is he? Because, you know. Gillian won't be very tall. ;)

5'7" or 5'8", unless he's grown drastically since December.

Bah. This cleaning is endless.

Whoa, that is awesome. I'm old enough to remember the wall coming down. I would love to be able to stand where your son has been.

The Wall came down on 9 November, 1989. Isaac was five days away from being four months old. So it's been down all his life, almost, which is cool but unsettling because it speaks to how old I am.

My dad was there that day, 11/9/89, at Checkpoint Charlie (he was in the army at the time). He brought me back a big chunk of the wall; it's lived on my bookshelf since I was 13. :)

Those are great pictures!

They do. They were selling them at the store, but it was like 10 € for a tiny piece, I dunno

I saw a round-trip fare to Munich on Orbitz for around $650. Still too expensive to take what would be a short trip. *sigh*

WTF is with everything reminding me of Monty Python? First there was this and then you do the whole Uncle Ted thing... Man, now I wanna watch The Life of Brian...

THE HILLS ARE ALIVE .... WITH THE SOUND OF MUUUUUUUUUUUUSIC......

*twirls in a bad Julie Andrews impersonation*

With his current hair, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] could blend right in on Haight Street.

I was in Berlin in 1985 as part of a high school trip and distinctly remember walking along the wall and looking at Checkpoint Charlie. It was definitely one of the more illogical works of man I've ever seen in person.

Hmm, I apparently was going to make a remark on [livejournal.com profile] mr_tooby's hair in my comment, but it got cut off. Let's go with "with his current hair, he would fit right in on Haight Street".

Anyway, my current hair is nothing to write home about. I've been growing it out since mid-October, which means it looks like a mop. It's 2-3 inches long and is in dire need of a trim, but I don't really know what to do with it, so I mostly ignore it.

Isaac, hereafter referred to as "Ike", has a bit of a different hairstyle...yes.

Okay, I'ma be totally all gay-in-the-face right now :-D.

I'll refrain from publicly posting my opinions on Ike's physical appearance...except for the hair. The hair is freakin' gorgeous! *Starts flicking hands in a stereotypically gay manner* *Dons a veeeery gay accent* Now, I think if it was about three to four inches longer, and his natural color...I'd die. But as it stands now...a whole bunch better than the short blue edition. Like I said before, though...gorgeous. Cute. Attractive. Beautiful. Handsome. Sexy.

'Nuff said.
